The Nearly Home trees or Coming Home trees are just off the A30 near Lifton, close to the Cornwall and Devon border. They are actually called the Cookworthy Knapp and are thought to have been planted 120 years ago. It isn't known exactly why, some say it was a farmer in memory of his late wife or even a burial site for a King. They seem to be a very popular landmark for people travelling home and for tourists as they are a prominent marker along that stretch of road. As a photographer I always wanted to try and get some images of these trees. One evening in April 2018 my daughter and I ventured up there. As the field is private property I decided to use the drone and was very pleased, having captured a different angle of them as they are just so iconic. After posting some of my images on social media I was really surprised at just how popular they are, they went crazy with interest. I have sold quite a lot of prints and have had a lot positive feedback so would like to say thank you to the people who have purchased them. All these images are available in my gallery/for sale, for anyone would like a to purchase a print for themselves or as a gift for someone that knows this iconic landmark.
